Braves President Will Speak at Vinings Business Association Meeting

The winner of the Vinings Business of the Year award for 2013 will also be announced during the Jan. 7 luncheon.

The president of the Atlanta Braves is scheduled to be the featured speaker at next month's meeting of the Vinings Business Association.

John Schuerholz, who helped officially announce the Atlanta Braves' relocation to Cobb County on Nov. 11, has been with the organization since 1990 and served as the club's general manager from 1991 to 2007.

The Braves' move to the suburbs has met with stiff opposition from both sides of the political spectrum, but was approved by the Cobb Board of Commissioners earlier this month.

The luncheon, which will be held at Social Vinings on Jan. 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., will also feature the announcement of the winner of the prestigious Vinings Business of the Year award for 2013.

Five finalists for the position spoke during the association's luncheon in December.

Lunch costs $15 for members and $20 for non-members. All attendees must register for the event online at least 24 hours in advance of the event.
