Business Leaders, Elected Officials Focus on 'Rebuilding Cobb's Future'

Join your local business leaders and U.S. Senators Bob Corker and Johnny Isakson at Cobb Chamber's first redevelopment forum.

The Cobb Chamber of Commerce will host its first redevelopment forum, entitled “Rebuilding Cobb’s Future - An Energetic Focus on Development” on Sept. 16.

The informative forum will gather stakeholders, developers, economists and leadership from local, state and federal agencies, and explore the redevelopment opportunities in Cobb County.

Keynote speakers U.S. Senators Bob Corker and Johnny Isakson will discuss the need for revitalization and redevelopment in Cobb as well as highlight the financial tools and incentives that allow developers to maximize their investment.

Participants will get to hear the success story in Chattanooga, Tenn. as experienced by Sen. Corker, and explore the possibilities and advantages of redevelopment in Cobb with Sen. Isakson.

The forum will also address the impact of Cobb's blighted properties, and discuss ways to increase property values and decrease crime rates in the area through redevelopment.

Chamber leaders said the event presents the opportunity to partner with local and state elected officials to implement stronger redevelopment policies.

The Cobb Chamber is organizing the event in partnership with the Council for Quality Growth and Revitalize Marietta.

The forum will be held at Hilton Atlanta/Marietta Hotel & Conference Center located at 500 Powder Springs St, Marietta. Online registration is underway at cobbchamber.org/events and closes Sept. 12.

Cost is $25 for general admission and free for elected officials. For more information on this event, contact Amanda Blanton at 770-859-2336 or ablanton@cobbchamber.org.
