Lee to deliver 'State of the County' address Monday

Cobb County Chairman Tim Lee will deliver his 'State of the County' address Monday morning at the Cobb Chamber of Commerce’s First Monday Breakfast.

The annual event begins at 7:30 a.m. and this year will be held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. General admission is  $40 for members and $60 for non-members. See here for more information.

Also Monday, the Interstate North Toastmasters will conduct their weekly meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. at 3100 Cumberland Boulevard. See her for more information

On Tuesday, the Smyrna Rotary Club holds its weekly lunch meeting at 12:15 p.m., at the , 200 Village Green Circle. Lunch is $15. Non-members must RSVP before the meeting. To RSVP, call 770-850-1640.

Also Tuesday, the Smyrna Golden K Kiwanis Club will hold its weekly meeting at the , 844 Church Street. The group meets from 9:30 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday to coordinate projects, listen to speakers, and share fellowship. All are welcome.

And Tuesday night at the Smyrna Community Center, residents of the Smyrna Heights neighborhood in Ward 4 are invited to attend a forum hosted by new Councilman Corkey Welch.

The meeting will take place from 7 – 9 p.m. Welch plans to deliver a short introduction, field questions and discuss neighborhood concerns.

Smyrna Heights residents are also encouraged to join the neighborhood’s facebook page to keep up with neighborhood news.

On Wednesday, Debby Bolt is the scheduled featured speaker at the Rotary Club of Vinings, which will meet at noon at The Vinings Club, Overlook III, 2859 Paces Ferry Road.

Also that day, the Kiwanis Club of Smyrna will hold its weekly meeting at the Smyrna Community Center. This is a spirited group of men and women, dedicated to improving the quality of life in the Smyrna community. The meeting is from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. and call 770-438-6961 for more info.

The Cobb Chamber’s Smyrna Area Council’s breakfast will be held Thursday, Jan. 12 at the Smyrna Community Center. The event begins at 7:45 a.m. General admission is $30. For members, it is $10 online and $20 at the door. Online registration closes at noon on Thursday. See here for more info.

Also Thursday at the Community Center, the Smyrna Business Exchange will conduct its weekly meeting from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Smyrna BNI is a business and professional networking organization that allows only one person per professional classification or specialty to join a chapter. And on Friday, the Smyrna Optimist Club will meet at 7 a.m. at the American Legion Post 160. The Optimist Club of Smyrna is an affiliate of Optimist International and incorporated in the State of Georgia as a nonprofit service club. Hundreds of youth in Smyrna are helped by the Optimist Club's projects and programs.
