Nearby: Keurig to Create 550 New Jobs in Douglas County

Beverage company will invest $337 million in new cold brewing manufacturing facility.

The beverage company that makes single-cup coffee brewing systems for the home is expanding into Douglas County, bringing 550 new jobs and $337 million in investments over the next five years.

Gov. Nathan Deal announced Thursday that Keurig Green Mountain will open a 585,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that will produce single-use pods for the company’s new at-home cold-drink system. Keurig and Coca-Cola announced a partnership in February to offer Coke products in the new system, the Governor’s Officer said in a press release.

The AJC reported Coca-Cola is a minority investor in Kerig.

“Keurig’s new facility is a great addition to Georgia’s already diverse manufacturing industry and will provide many good jobs for our citizens,” Deal said in a statement. “The fact that the company has chosen to manufacture its new product line in Georgia is a testament to our skilled workforce and logistics infrastructure.”

Keurig’s popular hot-drink system offers more than 50 high-quality brands and 290 beverages.
