Rep. David Scott's Job Fair Draws Almost 10,000 Job Seekers

Employers at the 11th annual event were looking to fill 4,449 positions.

Employers from Vinings-based Home Depot and Smyrna-based Glock, Inc., were among the more than 100 companies present at last week’s jobs fair at the Georgia International Convention Center.

Employers at the 11th annual event from U.S. Congressman David Scott were looking to fill 4,449 positions.

In addition to jobs, assistance was also available for people facing foreclosure.

"We have $339 million that we brought down from Washington to help struggling homeowners who are unemployed or under employed, to get up to 24 months free home mortgage," Scott told Atlanta’s WGCL-TV.

Congressman Scott, who has an office in Smyrna, represents six suburban counties around Atlanta including Cobb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Clayton, and Henry.
