Local Groups Receive Days of Giving Grants

Four area nonprofits were honored with $1,000 Days of Giving donations from Wells Fargo.

Four groups in the Smyrna area recently received $1,000 Days of Giving grants from Wells Fargo. The program will exceed $1 million in donations this fall to Georgia non-profits.

The following local groups were honored in the program:

A total of 29 groups from Cobb County and 72 groups in all received $1,000 checks last week at a community breakfast at the Mansour Center in Marietta. Three additional breakfasts will be held these two weeks across Atlanta and 251 groups in all will receive the same gift.

Wells Fargo also announced that it is using Days of Giving to provide a boost to Georgia Gives Day, a statewide campaign to encourage communities throughout Georgia to support nonprofits in the state. The campaign being coordinated by the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN) will climax in a 24-hour statewide giving event on Dec. 6.

Karen Beavor, President and CEO of the GCN, spoke at the breakfast to encourage non-profits to take part. “Georgians are generous people. We are excited to create an opportunity for everyone, in every corner of the state, to support the causes that make Georgia great,” she said.
