Tobacco Won't Be Sold at CVS, Including Stores in Smyrna

Company CEO says "It's the right thing to do." Do you agree?

Saying "It's the right thing to do," CVS Caremark CEO Larry Merlo announced the pharmacy chain will discontinue sales of tobacco products at its 7,600 locations on Oct. 1.

The change, which is expected to cost the chain $2 billion in sales, will impact sites in the Smyrna and Vinings areas, according the store locator on the company's website:

In the press release, Merlo said, "Cigarettes and tobacco products have no place in a setting where health care is delivered. This is the right thing to do."
