Infertility rates in the U.S.A are staggering. The recent data from the CDC website show that the “Number of women ages 15-44 with impaired fecundity (impaired ability to get pregnant or carry a baby to term): 6.7 million. Further, number of women ages 15-44 who have ever used infertility services: 7.4 million” (CDC). The costs of infertility treatments can be unfeasible for most people, as most patients do not have insurance coverage for infertility treatments. The American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) lists the average price of an in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle in the U.S. to be $12,400” (Resolve). When considering other non-invasive, natural and cost-effective approaches to improving health and wellbeing, chiropractic care is a great choice. “With the cost of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) ranging from $10,000to $20,000 per attempt, chiropractic care has the potential of saving patients a large amount of money by helping them avoid the need for IVF entirely or by reducing the number of IVF attempts needed to achieve conception.”(American Pregnancy). The big question that must be asked is; what is the reason chiropractic care so successful in addressing infertility issues? Well the American Pregnancy Association explains, “In many cases, fertility issues may be associated with improper nervous system function, poor nutrition, high stress and poor lifestyle habits. Chiropractors are nervous system specialists and reducing interference in the nervous system is their primary goal.
