Reed Needs a Reality Check

When I heard Mayor Kasim Reed's statement the other day I was taken aback in the wake of a typical Friday night in downtown Atlanta.  "My number one priority is public safety".  This statement is a farce.

Here is a breakdown if you want to know where crimes happen in Atlanta every night of the week:

Corner of 3rd and Piedmont...Prostitutes are here every night of the week...never arrested.
Corner of 8th and Cyprus....want to score a male prostitute or some crack/weed, come here any time from 9pm to 5am, open for business every night, these guys never get arrested.
Corner of Pine and Courtland...take your pick of what you want, anything goes here, prostitution, crack, smack, or any basic felony you can choose which law you want to break, we are open for business.
City Jail, got enough cash, bring in whatever you need, cell phone for deals, crack, heroine, meth, come one come all.

Oh, you called 911 because TI's boys threatened you with a gun (not me). We might come by if we have some time tonight, or not.

This man is posturing for a larger position in the Democratic machine and yet he cannot even come close to accomplishing the one thing he says he is doing.  If you want to continue with the path of deception vs. reality keep going this way.  If you want to tackle real problems with real solutions, try being around instead of being on "Meet the Press" every other month.  Eventually, you will not be able to hide from who you really are, and that is a charlatan.
