Free Blood Glucose Screening

Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna will offer a Free Blood Glucose Screening on Tuesday, December 10, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  Space is limited and reservations are required.  Did you know that early detection and treatment of diabetes can decrease the risk of developing the complications of diabetes?  The following symptoms of Type 2 diabetes are typical – urinating often, feeling very thirsty, feeling very hungry (even though you are eating), extreme fatigue, blurry vision, cuts/bruises that are slow to heal, tingling, pain or numbness in the hands or feet.  However, some people with type 2 diabetes have symptoms so mild that they go unnoticed. Have your blood glucose screened to find out if you are at risk for diabetes.  This screening will include A1C, the measurement of average blood glucose for the past 2 to 3 months, and Fasting Glucose (FPG), the measurement of fasting glucose levels.  Fasting for 8 hours before the screening is required.  Call 770-319-2025 to schedule an appointment time for this FREE screening.
