Donations Needed for "Shop With A Hero"

The program which allows underprivileged youngsters in our community to do their Christmas shopping with a firefighter or police officer needs your financial contributions.

The Smyrna Public Safety Foundation needs your help to brighten the holiday season for 50 disadvantaged youngsters in our area.

This is the thirteenth year of the foundation's "Shop With A Hero" program, which teams Smyrna's police, firefighters, and military personnel with 50 local elementary school children who might be facing an empty Christmas tree this year. Ten children are chosen by guidance counselors from each of Smyrna's five elementary schools.

Together, the officers and youngsters visit the Austell Wal-Mart and make sure each and every shopping list gets completed.

The event is only possible through donations to the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation, which are tax-deductible.

In order to help the foundation and make sure our local children have a bright and happy holiday season, please follow this link to make a donation.
