Vinings Downhill 5K: "Fastest 5K in Atlanta"

The event has raised more than $610,000 for local charities in the past 14 years.

For the 15th year, the Rotary Club of Vinings is bringing back the Vinings Downhill 5K “Run for the Kids”, and registration is now open.

The 5K race, a Peachtree Qualifier known as the "fastest 5K in Atlanta", is scheduled for August 17. The "lightning speed course" will run through the heart of Vinings and end at The Lovett School.

The event has raised more than $610,000 for local charities in the past 14 years. This year's proceeds will benefit the Calvary Children’s Home, the Good Samaritan Health Center, and the Vinings Rotary Charity Fund.

To register online, visit www.active.com. Early registration is encouraged as the field is limited to 1,500 runners.

To register in person, visit any Big Peach Running Company location or West Stride Running Store by 5 p.m. July 15.

Entry fees for the 5K:

  • $25 for entries received by July 15 (Dri Fit, cotton shirt, or hat guarantee);
  • $30 for entries from July 16 to August 15 or Sold Out Date (Cotton shirts or hats while they last);
  • $40 - Unlimited Race Day Registration (no shirt guarantees)
