Fannie Mae recently released results from their National Housing Survey. The survey found Americans are showing increased confidence in the housing market and the direction of the economy. At 43 percent, the share of respondents who believe home prices will go up in the next 12 months reached the highest level recorded, up 6 percentage points over November. Twenty-one percent of respondents say now is a good time to sell, a 2 percentage point decrease from November’s record high, but a 10 percentage point increase year over year. The amount of people who said in November they believed it is a good time to sell a home jumped 5%- the highest increase since the survey began in June 2010. 51% of respondents also said they believe it would be easy to get a mortgage- another high mark since the survey’s inception.
