Good Teachers Caught Giving an Extra Effort!

Good teachers were caught in the act of working without pay at a local Starbucks. Their extra effort is an example of why America will make a comeback with education reform measures.

Teachers Who Deserve Extra Credit!

Public school is not in session, but one of the things that always gives America a fighting chance is our extra effort.  When we are knocked down, we always get back up.  Education reforms like school choice, and renewing America’s competitive strength as a global leader are complex goals.

I stopped in for a pick me up at a local and was soon followed by a group of high energy, enthusiastic people.  They entered one by one like attending a reunion of some sort.  Had it not been for the occasional notepad they carried, I might have thought they were gathering to go see the new flick .  Actually, it wasn’t difficult for me to guess that they were teachers.  After giving “What I Did This Summer” reports, they got right down to the business of planning to receive The International Academy of Smyrna’s 1st grade students.  They were clearly engaged in team teaching, a process proven to increase results in the classroom.

Good teachers work hard.  Excellent teachers often prepare and work outside of the boundaries of our school walls.  Like these dedicated teachers at the , a public charter school on the rise, giving the extra 5% makes a 100% difference in improving student success in the Cobb County School District.  Thanks teachers.  You stimulate the brain better than coffee!

If you are a corporation looking to re-locate, consider schools like this one as one of Smyrna’s assets!  Schools of Choice make Smyrna a Good Choice!

Are these the apartments that were once called "Garrison Plantation"?
Lissa K. June 15, 2013 at 09:32 pm
This is Garrison Plantation - Garrison Lakes - Lakefront Vista. I lived there when it was familyRead More owned. It went from sister to brother then sold. Changed name from Garrison Plantation (because it wasn't PC) (but no one thought about what a garrison was) to Garrison Lakes (there's only one lake) to Lakefront Vista (under new ownership.) It's a dump now. The layout and size of the apts. are great. Even the location is great. Still know some people there. But it went downhill.

I'd rather answer the question "How do you feel about Roswell Street Baptist Church?" MyRead More answer: can't stand it. This incident is just another in its long and bigoted history. During the anti gay lifestyle debacle it gave out copies of the 10 Commandments. That anti gay resolution drafted by Gordon Wysong and enacted by the Cobb Co. Commissioners cost the county an Olympic venue. Whenever I hear about that church I think of the OM who called the church's prominent members The Marietta Mafia!

Its sad, that young people who are gay and often struggle to accept themselves as they are, faceRead More such fury and rejection by a church that preaches love, compassion and forgiveness for most but not all. No wonder many young people, the vast majority of whom are or will be heterosexual find the church increasingly irrelevant in their lives with attitudes like this.
