Welcome to the Neighborhood! Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption Holds Grand Opening

The 12-year-old nonprofit expanded its operation to Smyrna last spring and held a grand opening ceremony Sept. 19.

Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption has been dedicated to finding loving families for Atlanta's homeless pets for 12 years. The rescue recently expanded and they think that's something to celebrate.

Formerly located in midtown, the rescue group recently renovated a structure on Atlanta Road next door to K-9 Coach Bed and Bark to serve as the shelter and adoption center.Β

"The 15,000-sq. ft. building allows us to accommodate 80 dogs and 20 cats at one time, which given our current adoption rate means more animals will be saved from euthanasia across Georgia and the surrounding states. This marks tremendous growth since 2001 when the founder, Judy Price, added an annex to her home to accommodate 20 homeless pets," said Milena Christankova, a representative from APRA.
