Hundreds Attend Family Fun Safety Day

The Cobb County Safety Village offers hands-on instruction to youths and adults within a scaled down community streetscape.

More than 350 children and adults attended Friday's Family Fun Safety Day at the Cobb County Safety Village. Activities included a tour of Sparky's House, water safety games, free fingerprinting kits and up-close views of emergency vehicles.

Participating agencies included Cobb Animal Control, Cobb 911, Cobb Fire and Emergency Services, Cobb Police Department, Safe Kids Cobb County, Safe Path Children's Advocacy Center and WellStar Health Systems.

The Safety Village, built on a 8-acre site, is a comprehensive training environment offering hands-on instruction to youths and adults within a scaled down community streetscape. The life like streets include sidewalks, traffic signals and a variety of structures that represent the community.
