2012 Wine Strolls Benefits Smyrna Public Safety Foundation

The 2012 Smyrna WIne Stroll sponsored by The Wine Cellars is Saturday, May 19 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Sip and stroll through Market Village all while raising money for the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation at the 2012 Smyrna Wine Stroll Saturday, May 19. This year’s net proceeds from the wine stroll benefit the Smyrna nonprofit that aims to promote and support the Smyrna Fire and Police departments by raising funds for programs like and the . It also assists in funding public safety improvements, public service awards recognition and disaster recovery support.

Deputy Fire Chief Roy Acree, president of SPSF, was thrilled to hear the news.

“Once again the Smyrna business community shows us how much they appreciate public safety in Smyrna,” Acree said. “It’s just fantastic support. It’s overwhelming the amount of support we as public safety have in Smyrna. It’s fantastic. It’s overwhelming and it’s very much appreciated. “

The annual wine stroll hosted by offers participants samples of more than 60 different red and white wine selections. Other Market Village businesses get in on the action too with , and serving samples. Each year the net proceeds from event are located to a local charity. Past beneficiaries have been , Friends of the Smyrna Library and Blind and Low Vision Services of North Georgia.

Advance tickets are available online for $35. Everyone is invited to the stroll, but guests must be 21 and up to sample wine.

This is Garrison Plantation - Garrison Lakes - Lakefront Vista. I lived there when it was familyRead More owned. It went from sister to brother then sold. Changed name from Garrison Plantation (because it wasn't PC) (but no one thought about what a garrison was) to Garrison Lakes (there's only one lake) to Lakefront Vista (under new ownership.) It's a dump now. The layout and size of the apts. are great. Even the location is great. Still know some people there. But it went downhill.

During the anti gay lifestyle debacle it gave out copies of the 10 Commandments. That anti gay resolution drafted by Gordon Wysong and enacted by the Cobb Co. Commissioners cost the county an Olympic venue. Whenever I hear about that church I think of the OM who called the church's prominent members The Marietta Mafia!

No wonder many young people, the vast majority of whom are or will be heterosexual find the church increasingly irrelevant in their lives with attitudes like this.
