Accident Closes Southbound Lanes of South Cobb Drive

Motorists involved in the accident sustained minor injuries, city officials tell Patch.

The City of Smyrna is advising motorists to avoid a section of South Cobb Drive after a traffic accident caused major delays Monday morning.

According to the city's Nixle alert, the wreck happened at the intersection of South Cobb Drive and King Springs Road. All southbound lanes of South Cobb Drive have been blocked, the alert says.

City authorities told Patch that only minor injuries were reported in the crash, and nobody was entrapped. It was not clear at the time how many vehicles or what kinds of vehicles were involved in the accident.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area until the accident is cleared. City authorities have told Patch that wreckers are on scene to remove the involved vehicles.
