Alleged Rapist Accused of Crimes Near Smyrna

Because of the proximity of the crimes, police feel there may be more victims in the local area.

A Cobb County man with an extensive criminal history has been accused of multiple robberies and assaults on woman at the Caswyck Trail Apartment complex on Favor Road.

The complex, where 25-year-old Darrell Delane Cash is accused of robbing and sexually assaulting his victims at gunpoint, is located just west of the Smyrna city limits in unincorporated Marietta.

According to Sgt. Dana Pierce with Cobb County Police, Cash began in November contacting women who had placed ads on the Craigslist and backpage.com. He would then meet them in an unoccupied apartment or house where the crimes took place. He is accused of at least three assaults.

Because of the proximity of the crimes, police feel there may be more victims in the local area. Anyone with information about Cash is asked to contact Cobb Police at 770-499-3945.

Cash, a Chicago native, has been charged with two counts each of rape, armed robbery and burglary, and one count of kidnapping. He is currently being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

According to the Illinois Department of Corrections, he has had numerous arrests in his home state.
