Armed Robbery, Assault in Smyrna

The victim was struck in the head by a handgun in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Smyrna.

An armed robbery occurred Thursday night at Wellington Point Apartments on Manor Terrace in Smyrna, according to the the Cobb County Police Department.

Investigators said a female victim was approached in the parking lot at the apartment complex by two males who demanded her purse and cell phone. When the victim did not respond to the demands in a timely manner, one of the suspects struck the her in the head with a handgun.

The suspects then fled the scene in an older model Honda. The victim refused
any medical attention, said Cobb police spokesman Michael Bowman.

Below are descriptions of the suspects provided by the Cobb County Police Department:

1. Black male, approximately 5’00” tall, dark complexion, low fade hair cut, last seen wearing in all black "D.A.R.E." t-shirt with red letters.

2. Black male, approximately 5’2” tall, unknown clothing, but wearing a red and white striped knit cap. He was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.
