An Atlanta man who allegedly stole a woman's car at gunpoint is one of three people arrested in connection with the Smyrna carjacking.

Between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. June 24, Andrell Blunt of Atlanta allegedly approached a 2006 Chevy Impala Super S at 400 Cobb Crossing and demanded that the 46-year-old driver get out of her car, according to an arrest warrant.

"While making these demands said accused was said to be racking a pump action shotgun," police said.

The woman complied with the demands, and Blunt allegedly hopped in the driver's seat and sped away, according to the warrant.

Authorities tracked the car, which was equipped with an OnStar system, to an Atlanta apartment complex on Johnson Road.

"Atlanta police officers observed accused removing items from the car," according to the warrant. "Accused fled on foot and was quickly caught."

Inside the apartment, police found the keys to the Impala and a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun.

Blunt was arrested on two charges, including possession of a sawed-off shotgun, rifle or machine gun and hijacking a motor vehicle. He is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.
