Burning Ban in Smyrna-Vinings, Cobb

The open burning ban starts in May.

From May 1 to Sept. 30, Cobb County residents cannot use air curtain destructors for land clearing or burn leaves, tree limbs, other yard waste, and forest land.

Each year, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources issues a ban on open burning. Cobb and 53 other counties in Georgia are part of the ban.

Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services is responsible for the enforcement of this state-issued burning ban in unincorporated Cobb County and the cities of Acworth, Kennesaw and Powder Springs.
