Cobb police have arrested a mother and her father after they discovered a 6-year-old living in deplorable conditions inside a Marietta-area home.

WSB-TV reports that Sarah Veazey, 38, Robert Veazey, 62, were each charged with child cruelty in the first degree on Sunday after allowing a girl to live with no running water inside a filthy, cluttered Favor Road home just west of Smyrna off Windy Hill Road.

Both adults were in the Cobb County jail Monday on a $10,000 bond for the felony charge. The girl, whose name was not released, has been placed in protective custody.
