Cobb Mexican Restaurant Robbed at Gunpoint
Crime took place on Monday afternoon in Mableton.
Cobb police say a pair of armed men robbed a Mexican restaurant in the southern portion of the county on Monday afternoon.
According to investigators, at around 4:30 p.m., two black males immediately approached the cash register counter just after entering the Mexicana El Povenir restaurant, located at 6760 Mableton Parkway in Mableton.
While one of the suspects displayed a handgun and demanded that the employee open the cash register, the second acted as a lookout. As the victim opened the cash register, the armed man began taking money from it. After doing so, both men fled the business on foot in a westerly direction towards the Twin Oaks Mobile Home Park.

The armed man is described as standing approximately 5-foot-6 tall with a thin build, and thought to be in his mid-to-late teens. He was last seen wearing dark clothing with a bandanna across the lower portion of his face.
The other man, also thought to be in his mid-to-late teens, is described as standing about 5-foot-4 with a thin build. The victim was unable to describe his clothing, but she did say that the male had a t-shirt tied around his head to obscure his face.

There were no injuries during the armed robbery and anyone with information about is asked to call 770-499-3945. One can also remain anonymous and possibly receive a reward by contacting Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS.
