Cobb Mexican Restaurant Robbed at Gunpoint

Crime took place on Monday afternoon in Mableton.

Cobb police say a pair of armed men robbed a Mexican restaurant in the southern portion of the county on Monday afternoon.

According to investigators, at around 4:30 p.m., two black males immediately approached the cash register counter just after entering the Mexicana El Povenir restaurant, located at 6760 Mableton Parkway in Mableton.

While one of the suspects displayed a handgun and demanded that the employee open the cash register, the second acted as a lookout. As the victim opened the cash register, the armed man began taking money from it. After doing so, both men fled the business on foot in a westerly direction towards the Twin Oaks Mobile Home Park.
