Cobb Police ID Man Found Dead in Chattahoochee River

Perfecto Ochoa Alvarado was the victim of homicide according to authorities.

According to Cobb police, the body discovered by a fisherman Monday afternoon at the edge of the Chattahoochee River near Austell was a 34-year-old man who was the victim of homicide.

The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man as Perfecto Ochoa Alvarado.

According to Sgt. Dana Pierce, a cause of death has been determined, but not disclosed due to the ongoing investigation.

Police believe Alvarado may have been killed as long as two weeks prior to the discovery of his body lying on a log near the bank. Police have not determined where Alvarado was killed.
