Cobb Police Respond to Shots Fired in Galleria Area

Nobody was injured in the Tuesday afternoon shootout near Interstate 75.

Investigators with the Cobb County Police Department are trying to find the people involved with a shots fired call which occurred Tuesday afternoon in the vicinity of the Cobb Galleria Centre.

According to Cobb Police Department spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce, dispatchers received a call of shots fired in the area near the Knights Inn and Suites and the McDonalds on Circle 75 Parkway and Windy Hill Road at approximately 1:20 p.m.

The original dispatch claimed that two males had been firing at each other, but when officers arrived on the scene there were no wounded people or suspects in the area. Pierce confirmed that a large amount of evidence and witness testimony has been gathered, but said he was not privy to that information as of yet.

Pierce said that some people were detained in the opening stages of the investigation, but nobody has been arrested so far in connection with the incident.

A BOLO (Be On the LookOut) has been issued for a white Dodge Nitro van, which was spotted leaving the scene with one or more suspects inside, Pierce said.

The investigation is ongoing.
