Cobb Sheriff, Top Deputy Injured in I-75 Wreck

Neil Warren and Milton Beck were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

by Wendy Parker

Cobb County Sheriff Neil Warren and Milton Beck, his top deputy, are being treated for minor injuries after being involved in a multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 75 this afternoon.

Nancy Bodiford, a spokeswoman for the Cobb Sheriff's Office, said in a statement that Warren and Beck were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital after the accident, which took place around around 2 p.m. in a southbound lane of I-75, just south the Northside Drive exit.

Bodiford did not describe the injuries and said she had no other information, other than the accident is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol.

The AJC reported that the vehicle in which Warren and Beck were traveling was hit by a Ford pickup truck with a trailer, and that southbound traffic in all lanes of I-75 were shut down around the accident scene for a time.
