Drugs Found in Smyrna Home

Three people were arrested in connection with the bust.

Three people, including a fugitive from New Orleans, were arrested Friday after agents with the Marietta-Cobb-Smyrna Narcotics Unit found 8.5 pounds of marijuana, 396 Alprazolam pills, 51 Oxycodone pills, 7.1 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a firearm in the basement of a Wells Drive home.

MCS agents executed a search warrant at 2164 Wells Dr., where they found Wilbert Soco of Smyrna as well as Christopher and Shawne Cayette of New Orleans in the basement of the home, according to arrest warrants for the trio.

The marijuana and the Alprazolam pills were "in plain sight," authorities said in the warrants.

Soco faces multiple charges, including one count each of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and intent to distribute marijuana. He was released Tuesday from the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on $25,000 bond.

Christopher and Shawne Cayette each face one count of possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and one count of intent to distribute marijuana. Christopher Cayette was released Monday to the New Orleans Police Department. Shawne Cayette was released Tuesday from the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on $15,000 bond.
