UPDATE: Missing Elderly Cobb Man Found Safe

The 83-year-old had been missing since noon Tuesday.

UPDATE (10:00 p.m.): Authorities have confirmed that an elderly Cobb County man who was reported missing Tuesday afternoon has been found safe.

"83 year old Charles William Poteat was found safely and in good condition at a Texaco Station off I-75," wrote the Cobb County Department of Public Safety in an alert just before 10 p.m. Thursday.

A Mattie's Call has been issued for a missing Cobb County man who has dementia and Parkinson's disease.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that 83-year-old Charles William Poteat was last seen around noon Tuesday on Westmoreland Drive in Kennesaw. He was last seen driving a 1998 white Toyota T100 with Georgia license plate PCW 2519.

Poteat is said to frequent hardware stores and was last seen wearing a plaid shirt and tan pants.
