Female Teen Jogger Fights Off Attacker in West Cobb

Last weekend, girl was jogging in Powder Springs when she was reportedly approached from behind by the male suspect.

The Cobb County Police Department’s Crimes Against Children’s Unit is investigating an attempted assault that occurred on Gaydon Road near Sassafrass Lane in Powder Springs this past Saturday afternoon.

According to investigators, at approximately 4:30 p.m. on March, 29, a female juvenile was jogging on Gaydon when she was approached from behind by the male. She told investigators that the suspect ran towards her and she pushed him away. 

The male suspect then ran to a waiting four door pickup truck and got into the back seat. The vehicle then sped away on Gaydon.

The pickup truck is described as a newer model four door Dodge Ram 1500 with dark tinted windows and a Georgia tag. 

The suspect is described as white and about 18-20 years old. He is approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing gym shorts and unknown color “hoodie.”

On Thursday, Cobb police released a composite sketch of the suspect completed by a GBI forensic artist.
