Firefighters Contain Overnight Business Fire in Smyrna

Smyrna firefighters responded to a commercial building fire during the early morning hours on Wednesday.

At around 2:10 a.m., the Smyrna Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at Baan Thai Restaurant, located at 3315 South Cobb Drive. First arriving firefighters reported smoke coming from the front of the business.

Fire attack crews made entry through the front door and were able to confine the fire to the restaurant. Additional units from Cobb County Fire were on scene to assist with this incident as part of a second alarm.

Firefighting efforts were aided by the activation of an automatic sprinkler system and there were no injuries reported.

The initial call for the incident came from a Hertz rental employee located in the adjacent suite. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
