Update: Missing Smyrna Man Returns Unharmed

Leroy Bowden, 70, wandered away his nursing home facility Thursday afternoon.

UPDATE: At approximately 5:38 p.m. Thursday, Mr. Bowden walked into the Harold Avenue Personal Care facility safe and unharmed.

Original story: Cobb County police are searching for a 70-year-old man who is missing from Harold Avenue Personal Care at 1969 Harold Avenue in Smyrna.

The police Crime Against Persons Unit has asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to issue a Mattie's Call for Leroy Bowden, who is believed to have walked away from the assisted living facility located just north of Pat Mell Road on Thursday around 3 p.m.

He is 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds with gray hair and beard. He was last seen wearing a red sweat suit and khaki jacket.

Anyone with information about Smith is asked to call 911 or 770-499-3911.
