Motorcyclist Dies in Vinings Crash

Charges are expected to be filed, a spokesman with the Cobb County Police Department said.

A 44-year-old Atlanta man died Saturday after he was ejected from a motorcycle at the intersection of Cobb Parkway South and Paces Mill Road.

About 9 p.m. Saturday, Marc R. Ullmann was riding south on Cobb Parkway in a red and white 2007 Aprilia motorcycle when the driver of a red 2009 Mercedes C300 attempted to turn right from eastbound Paces Mill Road onto southbound Cobb Parkway, said Sgt. Dana Pierce with the Cobb County Police Department.

As Ullmann approached the intersection of Cobb Parkway South and Paces Mill Road, the driver of the Mercedes, identified as 28-year-old Demond M. Tate of Atlanta, attempted to make a U-turn to get back on westbound Paces Mill Road, Pierce said.

Ullmann was ejected from the motorcycle when it struck the Mercedes on the driver’s side door. Ullmann was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital where he died, Pierce said. Tate was taken to the same hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

"Charges are expected to be filed in this fatality crash," Pierce said.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 770-499-3987.
