Pair Accused of Doc's Robbery, Murders Indicted

Police say that a third suspect in the Oct. 28 robbery was killed by the victim before she was killed in turn.

The two people accused in taking part in a robbery outside a Smyrna restaurant last October that led to the deaths of two people have been indicted for their alleged parts in the crime.

44-year-old Isadore Walker "Izzy" Barboza and 24-year-old Renee Harris face charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. If convicted on all charges, the accused could spend the rest of their lives in prison.

In the early morning hours of Oct. 28, 2013, Barboza, Harris, and Quondre Bentley allegedly attempted to rob Ebonie Driskell and a friend as they were leaving Doc's Food and Spirits in Smyrna. The accused trio of robbers was allegedly attracted to Driskell and her friend because the friend had allegedly been flashing large amounts of money at the bar.

During the course of the robbery, Driskell produced a handgun from her purse and fatally shot Bentley. Barboza is then accused of killing Driskell and fleeing the scene with Harris in Driskell's 2003 Ford Taurus.

Harris and Barboza were arrested in early November and have both been held in the Cobb County jail without bond since their arrest.
