Police ID Suspect in Smyrna Commons Murder

Detectives obtained arrest warrants for Henry Darryl Francis, who could be be heading to Detroit, Mich., according to police.

Smyrna Police have obtained arrest warrants for the suspect in last week’s murder at Smyrna Commons apartments.

Detectives obtained arrest warrants for Henry Darryl Francis, 23, for homicide and four counts of aggravated assault.

According to detectives, the victim, Chudi Okereke, 27 was engaged in an argument with the suspect in the parking lot of the complex. The two reportedly went inside an apartment where Okereke was shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at Kennestone Hospital after the incident and Francis fled the scene on foot.

Francis, who is believed to have been injured during the incident from a gunshot to the arm, is considered armed and dangerous. He is described by detectives as a black male, 5-foot-9, 150 pounds with short hair and brown eyes.

The suspect reportedly has several arm tattoos. He is believed to have connections in Detroit, Mich., and could be headed to that region of the country.
