Police Say Smyrna Teen Lured Minor Through Social Media
The 18-year-old allegedly had sex with a 13-year-old girl he met through Facebook.
An 18-year-old Smyrna man has been arrested and charged with five counts of aggravated child molestation after police say he met a 13-year-old girl online and had sex with her.
Jenri Gomez met the Gwinnett County girl on Facebook, and encouraged her to come visit him at his Smyrna apartment complex, WSB-TV reports. The pair allegedly had sex on multiple occasions, sometimes in the apartment complex's laundry room.
A family member of Gomez's told WSB-TV that the girl told Gomez that she was 16.
Apart from the five aggravated child molestation charges, Gomez is also facing felony enticing a child for indecent purposes, misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and misdemeanor electronically furnishing obscene materials to minors. He is being held in the Cobb Adult Detention Center without bond.
