UPDATE: Police Seeking West Village Carjacking Suspect

Woman was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night while sitting in her car.

Update: Friday, 9:15 a.m. - Cobb Police report the female victim's white Chevrolet Malibu was recovered Thursday in Fulton County. The suspect remains at large.

Cobb County Police are seeking the public’s help in connection with an armed robbery and carjacking that occurred late Wednesday night in the West Village shopping center.

According to the police report, shortly before midnight a 22-year-old woman was sitting in her car near the at 4500 West Village Place when she was approached by a man with a gun.

He reportedly pointed the weapon at her and ordered her out of the car and to leave her personal belongings in the vehicle.

According to investigators, she complied and the suspect then drove off towards South Atlanta Road in a white 2005 Chevrolet Malibu with a Georgia tag of BJS 9567.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5-foot-10, and with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask, dark gloves and a white or gray t-shirt.
