A spectator was gored by a bull after he fell into the ring at a rodeo in Athens, Ga., this past weekend.

The man, who has not been identified, stood on top of a gate and fell in around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, June 22. He appeared to be intoxicated, the Athens-Banner reported.

He was badly injured, but his injuries were not specified. An off-duty officer was working security and responded to the incident and said it appeared the man was gored by a bull.

According to the police report, other spectators crowded around the injured man, and at one point pepper spray was used to push the crowd back. The report stated many members of the crowd also appeared to be intoxicated.

This is why I never drink alcohol. Alcohol causes a person to make poor decisions.

Well good for you David. The rest of us who know how to enjoy alcohol in moderation (especially a fine wine with a nice dinner) will enjoy that pleasure in life without falling over drunk and getting gored by a random bull.

Some people are just pollyannaish and David seems to be one of those people. His comments make little to no sense.

I have had a few beers here and there, never fell in a bull ring and been gored, nor have I made any decisions that I have regretted. So there David!!😛

Can you imagine how terrifying this must be for a trapped and taunted animal to be surrounded by a drunken mob? What a shame for an intelligent and majestic animal that these fixed and fraudulent gladiator games still happen for animals....
