Rifle Pointed at Men in Vinings

The suspect allegedly told two men "that he was 'protecting the United States,' " according to an arrest warrant.

A Vinings man is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond after Cobb police said he threatened to kill two men.

Between 3:30 and 4 p.m. Wednesday, Peter Todd Nicas exited his Paces Run Southeast home with a long rifle, according to his arrest warrant.

Nicas, Cobb police said, "did tell the victims that he was 'protecting the United States' and that if the victims did good, everything would be OK. If they did not do good he would kill them."

At the time, the muzzle of the weapon was only inches from the bodies of the men, authorities said.

"Said act did place the victims in fear of receiving a violent injury from the accused," according to the warrant.

Nicas was arrested at his home Wednesday evening on a charge of aggravated assault. This notation was in his warrant: "Danger to Re-Offend."
