Update: Homeless Man Killed in Smyrna Apartment Shooting

The shooting took place at an apartment complex near Loehmann's Plaza Shopping Center.

Update: Smyrna Police have identified the victim of Tuesday morning’s shooting at Wyndcliff Galleria Apartments as Warren Broadnax, a 55-year-old homeless man. Broadnax had been living in his car in the apartment complex parking lot.

At approximately 2:20 a.m., Smyrna Police responded to a complaint of shots fired, which was later upgraded to a complaint of a person shot. Broadnax had been shot multiple times in the parking lot near one of the apartment buildings. He was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Smyrna Police are investigating several leads and have asked that anyone with information regarding the shooting call the Smyrna Police Department at 678-631-5146 or 770-434-9481.

Original Story: A shooting took place early Tuesday at Wyndcliff Galleria Apartment complex, 2350 Cobb Parkway Southeast, near Loehmann's Plaza Shopping Center, CBS News Atlanta reported

The victim, who police have not identified, was transported to an area hospital. Police detectives told Patch that the man has died.

Police detectives were canvassing the area for additional evidence Tuesday morning. They told Patch they planned to tow away two vehicles as part of the investigation.

CBS Atlanta also reported that people were handcuffed at the scene, but it was unclear if they were being detained in connection with the shooting.

Det. Keith Sherwood would not confirm that arrests were made. He said police would release more details later Tuesday.
