Smyrna police are investigating the double shooting death of a Smyrna couple that occurred late Wednesday.
Authorities said William Whitaker, 44, and his wife Lynn Whitaker, 48, were found dead by their 25-year-old son at about 10 p.m. Wednesday in their townhouse on Cumberland Valley Drive.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the incident was the result of a domestic dispute, and there's no danger to the community, said Smyrna police spokesman Michael Smith.
An autopsy was preformed this morning by the Cobb County Medical Examiner.
