Police last week about the vehicle they believe was responsible for the accident. Pierce said the break in the case came when someone at a body shop in Alabaster, Ala., noticed a damaged Porsche on the premises and became suspicious.

The individual contacted local police after checking Atlanta news reports about the accident, Pierce said. He said Cobb investigators matched vehicle parts from the accident to the Porsche at the body shop.
