Smyrna Man Arrested in Northeast Cobb

The alleged victim of the crime needed surgery to recover from his wounds.

A Smyrna man was arrested by the Marietta Police Department after they say he stabbed another man with a pocket knife.

28-year-old John Thomas Myer, who lives on Argyle Drive, was arrested on Jan. 12 at 2:22 a.m. in the 800 block of Shadybrook Drive in Northeast Cobb.

The Marietta Daily Journal reports that Myer has been accused of stabbing the victim with a folding-blade pocket knife. The stabbing victim reportedly needed hospitalization and surgery for his wounds.

Myer has been charged with felony aggravated assault, and was released from jail at 2:52 p.m. on Jan. 13 after posting a $35,000 property bond, jail records show.
