Smyrna Man Allegedly Sexually Assaults, Impregnates 11-Year-Old

Martin Nolasco, 21, is being held without bond at Cobb County jail.

A Smyrna man is being held without bond after Smyrna police allege he molested and impregnated an 11-year-old girl.

According to a report filed by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Martin Nolasco, 21 of Smyrna, was charged with aggravated child molestation, two felony counts of child molestation and statutory rape. His arrest record with the Cobb County Sheriff's office also showed an immigration violation.

Officer Mike Smith, Smyrna Police Department’s public information officer, said Nolasco was a distant relative of the alleged victim.

Smith said that allegedly the perpetrator had sex with the victim three times over the past several months. The victim’s parents learned of the encounters after the victim got sick at school the week of April 23. After taking the victim to the hospital, her parents learned that she was pregnant, Smith said.

Nolasco is being held without bond at the Cobb County jail.
