Smyrna Resident Charged with Armed Robbery

Cobb police charged 17-year-old Abdul Griffin with armed robbery after he and two other males allegedly robbed a Marietta Pizza Hut.

Abdul Griffin, a 17-year-old Smyrna resident, is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center after Cobb police allege he was involved in an armed robbery at a Marietta Pizza Hut.

Investigators said three masked males entered the restaurant at 250 Windy Hill Road Wednesday, March 8. One of the individuals pointed a handgun at a female employee who ran from the building. The suspects took her purse and the cash drawer before the fleeing the building.

Unbeknownst to the suspects, a Pizza Hut employee followed them to a house on Dewey Lane about a half a mile from the scene. Police arrived soon after. Investigators were able to link Griffin to the robbery because his identification was found in some discarded clothing with the cash drawer in the backyard. The other two suspects are still at large.
