Smyrna Shell Station Robbed

The Sunday night robbery marked the second time in 2011 that the South Cobb Drive store has been held up.

A South Cobb Drive Shell Station that was robbed last March was again held up on Sunday night.

Cobb Police are searching for a man, who according to investigators committed an armed robbery at the store located at 5181 South Cobb Drive. According to police, the man entered the station shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday and immediately pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money.

The offender, described as a black male, standing approximately 5-foot-9 and with a medium build, then jumped the counter and took and undisclosed amount of money from the register. He then fled on foot heading in an unknown direction.

The offender was described as being between 20 and 25 years old and was clean-shaven. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black baseball cap and carrying a handgun.

No one was injured during the incident. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call investigators at 770-499-3945.
