Smyrna Woman Charged With Negligence
Police say Lisbeth Guzman-Lopez's two- and three-year-old children where found playing in a busy roadway while she was at the store.
Smyrna police say a 20-year-old Smyrna woman was charged with negligence after she left her two- and three-year-old children unattended while she went to the store.
Officer Michael Smith, Smyrna’s Police Department’s public information officer, said Cobb County police initially responded to a call about children playing in the roadway Tuesday, April 10. When they arrived at Herodian Way off Cobb Parkway, the toddlers were found in the street unsupervised and police realized it was in Smyrna’a jurisdiction. Smyrna police were called to the scene.
“We went to the apartment and nobody was there,” said “She arrived a short time later when she was arrested for leaving the kids unattended.”

Smith said Lisbeth Guzman-Lopez was held in Cobb County Jail until she was released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Her children, who Smith said were not injured, were released to the Division of Family and Children Services.
