Suspect arrested in Galleria Courtyard apartments homicide

21-year-old Horatio Lamar Pearson of Atlanta faces charges of murder, aggravated assault and theft.

According to Cobb County jail records, Horatio Lamar Pearson of Atlanta faces charges of murder, aggravated assault and theft in connection with the late December death of Cardell Henry of Smyrna.

Henry, 42, was found dead in his Galleria Courtyard apartment on Dec. 28 by Paul Roberts, who had stopped to check on his friend. A cause of death has not been released.

Pearson, 21, was arrested last Thursday and is being held without bond. Henry’s 2007 Mazda 4 was missing from the apartment’s parking lot when his body was discovered, but the car was later located in Atlanta.

Henry’s death was the only reported homicide in Smyrna in 2010. On the third day of this month, Smyrna Police released a photograph of Pearson in naming him a “person of interest.’’
