Cobb police have arrested a third suspect in connection with a burglary attempt at a Smyrna apartment complex last month.

Herman Lee Lawson, 32, of Atlanta, was arrested on March 25 and faces charges of fleeing a police officer, theft by receiving stolen property, burglary, driving with a suspended or revoked license, hit and run, reckless driving, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

During the March 19 incident, Cobb police captured two burglary suspects after a short car chase that resulted in the suspects wrecking their vehicle near the intersection of Orchard and Paces Ferry roads near Interstate 285.

Thirty-eight-year-old Chennardous Kyum Roby of Atlanta and Sanchez Ingram, 23, both of Atlanta, were charged with felony burglary and are being held without bond at the Cobb Adult Detention Center.

The incident began when the males were observed taking items from the Magnolia Vinings apartments on Cumberland Boulevard. A Cobb officer was close by when the dispatch came and in and was quickly able to locate the described car and gave chase down Paces Ferry.
