Cobb police say a lone gunman robbed a Cobb Parkway BP station early Friday morning.

According to Sgt. Dana Pierce, the man entered the Vinings-area store, located at 3340 Cobb Parkway near the Chattahoochee River, at approximately 1:10 a.m.

He immediately pointed a handgun at the clerk, and after demanding and receiving an undisclosed amount of cash from the employee, the suspect fled from the store on foot in an unknown direction.

He is described as a “light skinned” male, possibly Hispanic, standing 5-foot-8 and with an average build. He was last seen wearing a dark blue mechanics outfit, a blue bandanna, which covered the lower part of his face, a blue “skull cap,” sunglasses and gloves. He was armed with a handgun.

There were no injuries reported. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call 770-499-3945.

Also, anyone who may have information can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000 by contacting Greater Atlanta Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-TIPS (8477), or online at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org, or by texting CSA and the tip to CRIMES (274637).

He must have fled into the Chattahoochee river park. There wouldn't be anywhere else to go. He/she may live in apartments near Power's Ferry / Aker's Mill bordering Sandy Springs
